In 1995, I met a woman who couldn't communicate with me.  She had just arrived in Canada from Hong Kong with her two children. Her husband had to return to China in order to provide for their family.  She needed to work to  support some of the family expenses in Canada, and I offered to help her. She had very basic English skills. In my experience, there is little in life more difficult than integrating into a new culture when you can't speak the language.  I was honored to help her.  At that time, I realized that I needed to make a choice.

It would become the most fulfilling choice that I would make in my life.

For almost 20 years I have worked in various capacities of education. In my career, I have worked as a student services and education coordinator, a registrar, a teacher and as the director of a few educational facilities. I decided that it was time to expand from my local area, and so I began to offer online tutoring to the world. As a professional tutor/teacher, I work with students  both online and in private tutoring sessions. My students originate from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Mexico, Tokyo, and India or are native English speakers who need to hone in on their writing skills.

Today, because of technology, the world is a smaller place. We work hard to be part of the global community. We contribute to literacy programs and provide school supplies and educational materials to remote villages throughout the world through our partnership affiliates. We have assisted with local literacy programs including Labach Literacy and other literacy advocates. Over the years have become well known in our local community with our winter food bank drives. Right Choice Ed. works to bring students and communities together.

(Oh, and by the way, the lady that I referred to earlier in this writing is doing great,  and she is an inspiration to her kids, to me and to our community.  What a wonderful lady and how lucky am I to have met her! I pray for her continued success!)
